Located in Mirabel, this new 225,000-square foot plant consists of two 52,000-square foot hangars as well as a plant for the assembly of aircraft engines. This project targets LEED GOLD certification and includes service premises, offices, a kitchen and cafeteria, as well as zones for manufacturing parts and warehousing. According to Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), this building will save $196,258 a year on energy costs and consume 41% less energy than if it had been built in keeping with the Model National Energy Code for Buildings. Blondin Fortin & Associates was nominated for this project, in the 2012 edition of the AQME’s annual Energia competition.
